Introduction

Generally textile tire cord is introduced into the dip and hot stretching line and into the calender from a reel. After finishing the material is wound again onto a reel. Width control systems are required to keep the thread array at the target width as the array may narrow in all the different phases of finishing.

Textile tire cord too small

Compaction in the edge zones occurs if the textile tire cord array gets smaller . This contraction, however, causes a deterioration of quality during the finishing process.

If the textile tire cord is too large, in other words if the distances between the individual threads is too big, a deterioration of quality occurs during rubber coating in the calender.
